Had a weird drean where two of my hyperfixations (Monsters vs Aliens + Journey to West) crossover. The drean gave no explanation how it happened.

Details I remember:

Dr Cockroach was intrigued by the fact Tripitaka was a "Man-cada". They then had a heated philosophy debate.

Bob and Wukong had a "shapeshifter-off". Goofy boys.

Zhu Bajie and Link got along like a house on fire (Insecto too). They be talking chicks, sports, and booze.

Multiple characters nearly got smushed by Susan for being sexist.

Susan got self-concious about her unstable size-changing powers, so Wukong made himself super-tall to be supportive. She found it very sweet.

Link developed a "totally not-homo"-crush on Sha Wujing. The fact that the red-haired fishman is ripped, canonically over 10ft tall, and can tear monsters apart like pulled pork totally doesn't have anything to do with it! (Lie)

Ao Lie and Insecto hung out. Happy horse-dragon and butterfly-rodent bonding.

Finn Mertens:

- They often times affirm that they're a boy. Obviously can be read as in a trans boy way or in an overcompensating trans girl/nonbinary way

- Is VERY averse to anything feminine being applied to them. Again, either a over compensating trans boy or an overcompensating trans girl/nonbinary

- In past memories or recordings Finn is referred to with he/him. Obviously this is probably in refrence to AGAB, but as a magic world there's definetly some spell that will change all past instances of someone being referred to/talked about to line up with new pronouns

Bob:

- It’s funny

- They’re probably doing a lot of fun things with gender we just wouldn’t get

- This thing isn’t cis they probably don’t even know what that means

- They don’t even understand how other people divide genders why would they care to only have one

Link became my fav overtime, he’s got a lot of personality close contender has to be B.O.B, at the most random times he’s brilliant and in fact the most dangerous member on the team but he’s so innocent at heart (despite not having one).

okay i don't want to clutter this blog up *too* much with my own "not really mva ocs but their adjacent Enough to be considered mva ocs" and i know people have mixed opinions on kinsonas, but I've been thinking about these two guys again. with the context of this blog and some small things I've mentioned about myself it's probably hopefully *somewhat* obvious who these two are based on!

Étoile (she/??/it) - the taller pink alien gal, is a manifestation of the scientist guy's like. consciousness or subconscious. Said scientist i just call "Doc" (he/??)

They're the same entity, at their core; a pink, shapeshifting slime monster, that Mostly came from space. There's a human element, which is why they still have a human "host" body. Étoile is also basically just Doc's impulsive thoughts (not like. intrusive thoughts) and she does things he usually hates, and shows a side of himself he'd rather not have anyone know about. God Forbid Women Do Anything.

On the topic of gender, Doc presents masc but is afab coded, and Étoile is femme but amab-adjacent; she has a deeper voice, but doesn't have an assigned gender because.. yknow ,, creature. "why not just swap bodies" the problem would remain! it's like. even with everything they would want about themselves, they would naturally kinda just go back to being themselves again. There's really only one person in both bodies, it's not really like "split consciousness" or anything. They are the same Guy, just the personality changes with the body, due to how they feel in the respective forms.

Doc is also capable of kinda melting/turning into a flesh monster, but hates that a lot. He has to stretch every so often and kinda accidentally morphs a bit. I don't have a proper name for them separately, or together, actually! maybe someday lol.

Étoile is also selectively mute , and covers where a second eye *should* be, and her mouth. She's incapable of changing certain things about herself, including her size and her more complex features (basically important organs, which I'm debating if she has or not)

Right now, all I can remember is how jealous Doc got jealous of Sqweep and her smarts in the TV series.

I said it before but, where in the world did the monsters get all these gadgets, gizmos, whozits, and whatzits? The rec area in the movie and BOB's Big Break were slim pickens!

Insecto didn't pee herself. That was a saving grace

Link must've recycled Bun-bun from the series.

Man, Link's a great doodler, even if he forgot Dr C's stache.
